WOOD CHIPPER SAFETY SHIELD INSTALLED ON 1994 BANDIT WOOD CHIPPER

In this video, we’ll walk through the installation of a Wood Chipper Safety Shield, along with other safety modifications, on a 1994 Bandit wood chipper.

The installation was on a 1994 Bandit 200+ disc chipper owned by the city of Placentia, Calif.

We had to install a hydraulic valve because this machine was pre-auto-feed and pre-auto-reverse.

We mounted a controller with LED lights to indicate whether the machine is working properly or not. A green light indicates whether feed wheels have stopped or not. If the light is green, the wheels are spinning.

We also added a manual holder because there wasn’t one on the machine, and we installed new last chance cables because it didn’t have them.

Our WCSS antenna plates are mounted on the inside as is typical, along with the reset buttons on both sides of the machine. We added a push pedal mount because this machine didn’t have one.

This is a 1994 Bandit chipper that is still in service and chipping well. With the new safety modifications, it should be in safe service for years to come.

Chip safely!
